Call for papers for the 12th International Congress of Belarusian Studies (till 16.06.2025)

The Organising Committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies is pleased to announce the Call for papers for the 12th Congress, to be held on September 25-27, 2025, in Berlin (Germany). The main academic partner: Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

In 2025, the Congress will operate in 12 research sections, covering all major social sciences and humanities disciplines: history, international relations and political science, sociology, linguistics, literary studies, and others.

The Congress is the most representative annual academic and expert event on Belarus, bringing together all major intellectual centres studying Belarusian society, politics, and culture. In addition, the Congress serves as an excellent platform for developing new research and civic initiatives, exchanging ideas, and establishing informal contacts among experts and academics from Belarus and beyond.

The mission of the Congress is to develop a community of scientists, analysts and experts, as well as to promote a deeper understanding of Belarus in the academic circles on a national, regional and global level.

To take part in the Congress as a speaker, please fill in the ONLINE FORM and submit your abstract of 2000-4000 characters. Deadline: June 16, 2025.

The main working languages of the Congress are Belarusian and English; additional languages include German, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Russian. The working languages of individual panels are determined by their coordinators.

Please note that each applicant may submit only ONE abstract. During the Congress, it will not be possible to give two presentations.

The сall for participation of guests and journalists, as well as the сall for presentation of scientific, cultural, publishing and other projects will be announced later.
