Grants for Supporting New Publications
Best Scientific Publications 2025. The Organizing Committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies announces the start of the commission’s work to determine the best scientific publications in the field of social and humanitarian disciplines based on the results of 2024.
The task of the commission is to identify the best achievements in social, political, and humanitarian sciences, as well as to promote the dissemination of the results of the best Belarusian scientific research.
We invite members of the academic community to submit their opinions on the best scientific publications and to contribute to the popularization of the achievements of Belarusian science.
Proposals can be submitted to premija@palityka.org until June 1, 2025.The official announcement of the list of the best publications will take place on September 26, 2025, during the XII Congress in Berlin.
As a result of the commission’s work, three best publications will be selected in the following categories:
– History (monographs, articles)
– Humanities (monographs, articles)
– Social and Political Sciences (monographs, articles)
For evaluation, the commission may also consider works published in 2023 that were not previously nominated for the competition.
Award for Foreign Authors. The International Congress of Belarusian Studies is pleased to announce a competition for the Award for the Best Scientific Publication by Foreign Authors in English, published in the last ten years (2015–2024).
Monographs may be nominated for the award if they are written by authors who are not and have never been citizens of Belarus, and which are wholly or substantially dedicated to Belarus. All contentious nomination issues are decided by the commission.

Grants for Supporting Publications. The Organizing Committee of the International Congress of Belarusian Studies, together with the Scholars for Belarus project, announces a competition to support the publication of the best scientific works in the field of social and humanitarian disciplines.
The purpose of the grants is to facilitate the publication and preparation for publication of the best new research works in the social and humanitarian sciences in the format of books and scientific articles, as well as to increase their visibility and expand access (open access).
We invite members of the academic community to submit their works for grants by June 1, 2025, to premija@palityka.org.
We especially encourage young researchers who would like to publish their first book or doctoral dissertation to participate.
Within the competition, both monographs and scientific articles may be supported. The competition has no thematic restrictions.
Grant Application Conditions:
1. The material has not been previously published, either in part or in full;
2. Articles must comply with the structure and style of academic journals (length up to two author’s sheets, presence of a title, abstract, clear structural sections, bibliography, and citations formatted in one of the generally accepted citation styles);
3. Materials with multiple authors are accepted for nomination, but the number of authors does not affect the grant amount;
4. The commission accepts works in Belarusian, English, and Russian;
5. The grant may be used for preparing the text for publication (editing, translation, layout), paying publication fees, purchasing open access rights to the publication, and revising the publication.
